Dear Friends

Thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. There is so much for which to be thankful as God does his work among and through us. Here is one example from Femi Adeleye, our Director for Africa.

We thank God for the partnership we have with local churches. This past week, in Nigeria, 70 pastors and church leaders, from several denominations and from across the country, travelled to the capital city, Abuja, to map out a plan for the growth of the preaching movement within Nigeria—and to deliberate on pioneering efforts for neighbouring countries like Cameroon, Chad and Niger Republic. Today, as part of the closing ceremony, the Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican), The Most Revd, Henry Ndukuba, hosted a dinner for leaders from six denominational backgrounds, at which the vision for Langham Preaching was shared. Several people gave testimonies of the impact Langham Preaching on their life and ministry and made commitments to support the ministry financially. Besides participation in events like this one, a number of them serve on national committees and as facilitators at our events. For this, we are grateful for the partnership we share in ministry with churches and give God the glory.

Please pray for the work in various places around the world

Nicaragua: Let us thank God for the first ever Level One seminar, taking place near Managua from Thursday until Sunday. It is wonderful news! About 35-40 people are expected, from different provinces across the country—and with Alex Chiang, Betuel Ayes, and Dionisio Orjuela as the facilitators. Dionisio (regional coordinator), asks us to pray for ‘financial provision for the participants (in one of the poorest countries in the area), safety in travels—and that God will visit us through his presence and Word, ensuring the best start for this new preaching movement’.

Solomon Islands: On Monday and Tuesday, Tukana Nakesu and Stephen Williams are facilitating a ‘refresher’ seminar. This is the first training in the Solomons since the start of COVID-19. Over 65 people have indicated they are coming, some of whom have completed all three Levels of the training, while others will having their ‘first taste of Langham’.

Philippines: There is a gathering in-person to revise the Level One & Two handbook used in the training. Please pray for Iljo de Keijzer, Rene Futalan, Abby Galzote, Let Malaluan and Phil Nicholson—and pray for focus and stamina as they work to have the material ready for the seminar planned for next week.

CORRECTION!

One of the items in this week's prayershot was wrongly labelled as being from Bénin. It should read as follows:

DR Congo: From Thursday until Saturday there is an in-person Level One seminar, with about 20 participants expected. Pray for wisdom for Nzua Orionzi, as he facilitates the training—and for ‘journey mercies and peace during this time because the militia are active'.

West Asia: Those of you who journeyed with us through 2022 will remember FEBE, the Fellowship of Eurasian Biblical Expositors (FEBE). The second training session in 2023 runs from Thursday until Tuesday, and then in each month until May. In between these sessions, ‘FEBE groups’, or preaching clubs, will meet locally. Give thanks for the 21 participants from Georgia and Azerbaijan gathering in-person this week. Pray for wisdom for the facilitator-team: Paula Viles, Paul Guttridge, Jenny Brown and Kanat K. Pray also that participants will be able to travel to the venues safely and without delays.

Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
