Dear Friends

Thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. There is so much for which to be thankful as God does his work among us. Here is one example from Esteban Améstegui, assisting with administration and media in both our Latin American and Global leadership teams.

Last Saturday, more than 100 people from across Latin America and the Hispanic Diaspora connected for our annual Day of Prayer. We heard a fantastic sermon from Jorge Atiencia (Senior Advisor in our Leadership Team)—and then we confessed our shortcomings, interceded for the preaching movements across the world, and celebrated all that has been achieved through God's grace. We are genuinely thankful for a special time of fellowship and connection to our Holy Father. It was also a reminder that if we want to form a community of preachers that is Christ-like in character and if we want to preach like Jesus, then we must pray and live like Jesus.

Later today: The family and friends of Martin Cuthbertson, precious husband of our own Jennifer, gather for his memorial service in Richmond, British Columbia (Canada). Martin died peacefully on 1st November, All Saints Day, after a short illness. Let’s hold Jennifer close in our hearts and our prayers, confident as we are in the comfort of the Spirit and the hope of resurrection. For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end (Psalm 48.14).

Please pray for the work in various places around the world

Uganda: Give thanks for the Level Two seminar in which 22 people from the two ushirikas (preaching clubs) at All Saints Cathedral (Kampala) participated. Pray for Samuel Opolot, the new preaching movement cooridnator, as he works with the team to move the work forward across the country.

Malaysia: From Monday to Wednesday, a Level One seminar takes place in Sarawak, in collaboration with the Borneo Evangelical Mission—and with Ayub Wahyono, Maria Magdalena, Njoo Mee Fang and Phil Nicholson as the facilitators. Pray for participants as they travel long distances, and that the differences in language will not hinder the enthusiasm of the participants. Then, on Monday and Tuesday, in Sibu, there is a special ‘refresher’ seminar for people who were unable to cpntinue with the training during the pandemic.

Bolivia: A Level Two workshop, focused on preaching the parables, takes place on Wednesdays in Cochabamba. Esteban Améstegui is facilitating the learning experience for a small group in the Genesis Church. Please pray that the time together will be transformational.

Burkina Faso: A training seminar for ushirika (preaching club) coordinators takes place from Tuesday until Thursday in Ouagadogou, with Roland Tamini, Zabre Romain and Armand Dzadu as the facilitators. Pray for the 15 participants, pastors in training at a local college, and for the smooth running of the seminar.

Paraguay: On Saturday, in Asunción, there is an escuelita (preaching club) coordinators’ training seminar, with Rumilda Cabrera and Enrique Rotela facilitating the training for ten participants. As Wilfredo Weigandt (regional coordinator) writes, ‘We thank God for the possibility of starting our first cycle of Langham Preaching in Asunción, Paraguay. May we initiate it with the grace of God, in the power of the Spirit, and for the love of Christ.’

Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
