Dear Friends

Thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. There is so much for which to be thankful as God does his work among us. Here is one example from Paul Windsor, our Programme Director.

In listening to the book of Acts recently, it was good to be reminded again that the story of Saul’s conversion is recorded not once, or twice—but three times (Acts 9, 22 and 26). At a time when written words were not as common, or as cheap, as they are today, it seems a surprising decision by Luke. But in three different settings Paul bears witness to how Jesus came to him. As we travel through this Advent season as the worldwide Langham Preaching family, we celebrate the gospel, the story of Jesus’ coming into the world. But let’s also find settings in which we bear witness to that gospel, by giving thanks for the way Jesus came to us—bringing us to himself in his grace and calling us into this ministry by that same grace.

Please pray for the work in various places around the world

Myanmar: Throughout this week, a Level Two seminar for 20 participants is taking place in Sunt Pint village (Pegu), with Pung Ram and Kaw San as the facilitators. Once again, Sein Kyi (preaching movement coordinator) asks us to pray for safety as ‘the location is close to the border of Rakhine State where the civil war is going on’.

Romania: On Friday a ‘refresher’ is planned in Arad for 30 theological students and local ministers. Dani Oprean will be the facilitator and he asks us to pray that the day will produce ‘a fresh understanding of the importance of the Word of God for the life of the church.’

Kenya: Tuesday sees the start of another Level Two seminar in Gongo. Heavy rains are making travel difficult. About 30 participants are expected, with Regina, Joseph and Ignatius Maimbu as the facilitators.

Cambodia: A seminar focused on training local facilitators commences on Thursday, with Somnang Sim (preaching movement coordinator) as the facilitators of the learning.

Slovenia: Saturday is a big day for the preaching movement here. Up to 25 people are expected to gather in Celje for the purpose of launching preaching clubs. Oliver Buljat will be the facilitator and he asks us to pray for ‘good cooperation within the local Langham team and a good response from local pastors and leaders’.

Botswana: About 25 people are gathering in Gaborone from Wednesday until Friday for Level One, Two and Three seminars running at the same time. The team of facilitators will be Frank Shayi, Blade Molefinyane, Ephraim Nkomo, Luxson Chiwhayi (ushirika coordinator) and Gaolekwe Ndwapi (preaching movement coordinator). Pray that people will make it a priority and participate well in the training.

Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
