Dear Friends

Thank you for your prayerful support for the work of Preaching around the world. Here are the items for prayer in the week ahead.

Ghana: The second part of a Level 1 seminar takes place on Saturday for 20 Presbyterian church leaders in Kasoa, with Gabriel Annan, Emmanuel Ahlijah, Kwame Adu and Victor Obeng (coordinator) as facilitators. As Victor writes, ‘Please pray that participants will adopt this expository preaching method of study and preaching for life. Remember them as they take off time from their heavy responsibilities in order to participate in this weekly training.’

Ukraine: Mark Meynell and Sharon Wilmshurst are planning to travel to Ukraine this week, but because of the political situation that developed last week, this has yet to be confirmed. Pray that wise decisions will be made about whether to proceed with this Level 2 seminar on preaching from the Gospels in Irpin near Kyiv. 35 participants are expected. Pray for Sergiy Tymchenko (coordinator) as he oversees the seminar and for the formation of a Langham Preaching Ukraine committee. STOP PRESS: This seminar has been postponed. Please pray for the National Langham Preaching team at this time.

Africa: [This item was placed in the prayershot a week early – but it is good to be praying for this meeting once again]. The Africa Leadership Team meets in Botswana to review the year and to plan for the future of this ministry across the African continent. Pray for Femi Adeleye (Director) as he leads the team of Frank Shayi (Southern Africa), Mercy Ireri (East Africa), Roland Tamini (West Africa), Bishop Isesomo (Central Africa) – with Emeka Egbo (Associate Director) and Mike McGowan (Consultant for the Francophone World) also participants in this strategic meeting. As Emeka writes, ‘Please pray for God’s guidance for fruitful discussions as we meet - and for godliness to emerge in the political leadership across Africa.

Latin & Central America: Give thanks for the productive meeting with the preaching movement coordinators of nine countries from across the continent which was held two weeks ago. As Igor Améstegui (Director) comments, ‘The Lord gave us an excellent atmosphere of trust and working together. We achieved excellent progress with the creation of national committees, the development and management of funds, and further clarifying the role of the coordinator.

Thanks for your prayers!
