Thank you for your prayerful support for the work of Langham Preaching around the world. Here are the items for prayer in the week ahead.
Sri Lanka: Up to 60 people are expected for a Level 2 seminar in Colombo, with Kanishka Raffel, Peter Adam and Samuel Morton as the facilitators. While the teaching will be in English, there will be simultaneous translation into both Sinhala and Tamil. Mayukha Perera (coordinator) asks to pray that the process goes smoothly and that participants will give their best to this short time together.
South Sudan: It is a big week in Juba. First there will be Level 1, 2 and 3 seminars running simultaneously (with 90 participants) and then this will be followed by a Training of Trainers’ seminar for 25 people. Pray for Emeka Egbo, Ishaya Baba, Mercy Ireri and members of the local team (Richard, William, Silvas and Joseph) as they facilitate the learning. Please keep the wider context in your prayers as they gather in a country where the economic situation is severe and in which a ‘government of national unity’ is to be formed in November.
India: It is a big week in Hyderabad. First there will be a ‘Training of Trainers’ seminar for 25 people in the Telugu-speaking preaching movement, with Veena & Praveen Bunyan and Paul Windsor as the facilitators. Give thanks for this group who have stayed motivated and engaged right through the training. Following this seminar there will be Level 3 one for those participants in the All-India initiative, being prepared to start multiple language-specific preaching movements in the future.
Botswana: It is a big week in Gaborone. A Training of Trainers’ seminar for ten people will be followed immediately by Level 1, 2, 3 seminars with 40 participants. Gaolekwe Ndwapi asks us to pray for Frank Shayi and Clarkson Chidimuro and the rest of the team – and for a time of peace as national elections approach later next month.
Europe & Caribbean: The Leadership Team for this area meets this week. Give thanks to God for each one of them: Slavko Hadzic, Ewald Ring, Mike McGowan, Sharon Watkinson and Mark Meynell. Please pray for good team fellowship and effective, prayerful planning – and also for Sharon Mac Wilmshurst, on maternity leave, as she adjusts to this new stage in life. In the days following this meeting the preaching movement in Trinidad will celebrate its ten years of being a channel of God’s blessing in the churches of their country.
Thank you for your prayers!
