Dear Friends
Thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. There is so much for which to be thankful as God does his work among us and through us. Here is one example from Igor Améstegui, our Director for Latin America—based in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
From 28-29th January, I joined with the team which coordinates the Bolivian preaching movement for an evaluation and planning retreat. From 30th January-1st February, Jorge Atiencia and Dionisio Orjuela were in a similar session with the Colombian team, strategising for the next five years. We are grateful for the volunteer and visionary work of all the coordinating teams across the continent. Knowing the importance of them, we are uniting them for a big continental meeting from 28th April-1st May, in Lima, Peru. Please pray with us for the success of this important event for the growth of the ministry in this part of the world.
Please pray for the work in various places around the world…
Senegal: Holding a Vision Bearers’ Consultation (VBC) is the way in which a preaching movement in Africa begins its journey. This week it is the turn of two neighbouring countries in West Africa. From Monday to Wednesday, 35 pastors and church leaders from different denominations are expected to gather in Dakar—with Armand Dzadu and Victor Obeng (regional coordinators, West Africa) as the facilitators. Please pray ‘for a clear understanding of Langham‘s approach to training and for a full local ownership of the work by those who gather.’
The Gambia: Then, from Wednesday until Friday, 30 pastors and church leaders gather in Banjul for another VBC— with Femi Adeleye, Roland Tamini and Victor Obeng as the facilitators. As Victor writes, ‘Please pray that church leaders are available and that discussions are fruitful. Pray for discernment in appointing people to the two key roles: preaching movement coordinator and ushirika (preaching club) coordinator. Pray for the culture of preaching to change, bringing transformation in The Gambia.’
Philippines: A ‘Training of Local Facilitators’ (TLF) seminar takes place from Monday until Thursday in Manila—with Abby Galzote, Let Malaluan, Rico Casilag, Jerry O Dayot, Phil Nicholson and Iljo de Keijzer (preaching movement coordinator) as the facilitators. People are expected to come from across the country and so Iljo asks us to pray that ‘the right people from the strategic places come, enabling the preaching movement to spread in the Philippines’.
Vanuatu: Our regional coordinators in the South Pacific, Tukana Nakesu and Stephen Williams, are in Port Vila to preach, to participate in preaching clubs and to meet with Langham supporters. Please pray especially for the meeting, all-day on Tuesday, with the Vanuatu Christian Council, as they look to make plans together to extend the work to additional denominations and to the smaller islands.
Spain: The second part of a Level One seminar takes place on Saturday in Siete Robles, in the north of the country. They are expecting 75 participants, with Timoteo Glasscock as the facilitator.
Colombia: From Friday until Sunday a Level Three seminar in Valledupar is expected to gather 70 participants—with Mercedes Quintero, Luis Miguel Huertas and David Parra as the facilitators. Please pray for wisdom and protection for everyone who is involved.
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
