As we commence a new year together, thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. Here is a word of wisdom from Igor Améstegui, our Director in Latin America.
The year 2022 has moved into history, as we are already in 2023. But let's not turn the page too quickly. I am sure God has worked a lot in our lives and ministry and taught us many things through the past year. I offer these two questions to help you evaluate the year: (a) What experiences of 2022 make you feel more grateful?; and (b) For what experiences, or situations, lived at 2022 do you feel less grateful? Let's not neglect to commence the new year with the wisdom to be gained from the previous one.
Please pray for the work in various places around the world…
Gabon: The Vision Bearers’ Consultation (VBC) is the way a new preaching movement commences across Africa—and one is happening from Tuesday until Thursday, in Libreville. Pray for Roland Tamini and Femi Adeleye as they meet with 40 church leaders from different denominations. Roland writes that ‘this has been the most challenging VBC we've ever organized. False teachers have been causing scandals in recent years and so their immigration service has become very cautious about speakers coming for church-related events.’ Pray that those who have been invited will be able to come, that there will be fruitful conversations and that there will be a successful launch of Langham Preaching in Gabon!
India: From Tuesday until Friday a Level One seminar takes place in Kohima (Nagaland), with Kedo Peseyie, Alongla Aier and Johnson Raih as the facilitators. About 40 participants are expected and we are asked to pray that ‘God’s Spirit will enable all of us to fall in love with his Word all over again’.
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
