Thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. There is so much for which to be thankful as God does his work among and through us. Here is one example from Dwi Maria Handayani, our Director for Asia & the South Pacific, based in Indonesia.
It is such a delight to meet training facilitators and preaching movement coordinators across Asia who are so dedicated and who enjoy their ministry in Langham Preaching. These people believe that what they do through Langham Preaching is having an impact on the church and on society. They are supported in their work by committed local teams, demonstrating great generosity and hospitality. I am writing this from Nagaland (Northeast India) where I have felt God's presence through the hospitality of this local team. Thank God with me for them—and for others serving in similar ways across the world.
Please pray for the work in various places around the world…
Colombia: From Monday until Wednesday the preaching movement here holds some strategic planning sessions in Armenia, led by Jorge Atiencia, Dionisio Orjuela and Mercedes Quintero (who has broken her arm!). They are going to dream together about the next five years, with 9 participants expected from Medellin, Armenia, Bogotá, Sincelejo, Barranquilla, Cali, Ibagué and Ecuador. Please pray for wisdom as they seek to discern the times in which they live and the right responses to be made.
Nigeria (I): It is also a big week across the Atlantic Ocean! From Monday until Thursday, in Abuja, there is an All-Nigeria event gathering 60 key leaders and facilitators for a consultation and some training. Facilitating the time are Pandang Yamsat, Emmanuel Egbunu, Jwan B. Zhumbes, Gideon Para-Mallam and Ishaya Baba—together with Hankuri Tawus Gaya (preaching movement coordinator, Nigeria), Chukwuemeka Egbo (Associate Director, Africa) and Femi Adeleye (Director, Africa). We are asked to pray that (a) God will spark a fresh vision for his word and for equipping others to study, live, preach and teach it; (b) there be a recommitment to owning and moving the Langham vision forward; (c) a fresh vision for personal and national transformation be birthed through the word.
Nigeria (II): The primate of the Anglican Communion is graciously hosting church leaders to a dinner, in Abuja on Thursday, where the vision of Langham Preaching will be shared and leaders invited to sign up as partners. 50 key church leaders are expected for this Strategic Partnership dinner—with Femi Adeleye, Gideon Para-Mallam, Emmanuel Egbunu and Hankuri Tawus Gaya sharing the vision and the areas for involvement and participation. We are asked to pray that (a) God will move the heart of the host and that church leaders will catch the vision, and commit to mainstreaming it into their pastoral development trainings; and (b) God will raise financial support for the vision of Langham Preaching Nigeria through the partnership dinner and vision sharing.
Croatia: A Level Two seminar takes place on Friday and Saturday, in Split, with Oliver Buljat as the facilitator. About 25 participants are expected from Southern Croatia (Dalmatia). Pray for a breakthrough in the ministry, with the formation of preaching clubs in Dalmatia.
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
