Dear friends,

Thank you for your prayerful support of the work of Langham Preaching around the world. We have much to be thankful for as God continues His work among us and through us. I'd like to share an example from Dionisio Orjuela, our Regional Coordinator for Central America and Acting Director for Latin America, based in Ibagué, Colombia.

The natural disasters that have rocked the world in recent days, such as Hurricane Idalia affecting several states in the southeastern United States, the wildfires that devastated thousands of hectares in Greece, Typhoon Saola impacting southern Asia, and the terrible floods in several European nations, make the words of the Apostle Paul resonate once again in our ears: "We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time" (Rom. 8:22, NIV).

Paul compares creation to a woman in labor, placing the groans of a woman giving birth within the Earth's throat. There is no doubt that these and other tragedies are some of the painful groans of a creation wounded unto death, crying out for redemption. Just as creation, we also groan, wondering how long we must endure trials, needs, illnesses, injustices, pain, and death. Here is the answer the same apostle offers us: "...we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope, we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? (Romans 8:23,24. NIV).

Hope in our future redemption is the answer. This is where the ministry of Langham Preaching becomes relevant. We are a ministry of hope. If there's anything we and our nations need, it's hope, and the preaching of God's Word is the instrument. Amidst natural and social tragedies, let us remain faithful to our calling as bearers of Hope.

Let us pray for Langham Preaching events...

Colombia: Under the theme "Jesus: The Only Gospel, yesterday, today, and always," from September 11th to 14th, The Seminario Bíblico de Medellin will host the Transformative Preaching event, gathering 300 participants in both in-person and virtual formats from across the country and other nations. With Mark Meynell as a guest speaker and the translation provided by Jorge Atiencia, along with the committed participation of all Colombia's national team members, the primary goal is to spread and glorify the Word of the Lord. Let us fervently pray to God for the financial provision to enable all interested individuals to fully participate and for spiritual protection for both the facilitating team and the participants as they immerse themselves in this journey of faith growing “in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” in the Gospels.

Thank you for your faithful prayer support for this ministry.
